CHSPJ English Drama Team 2009 performing in Petaling Utama District English Drama Competition (3)

This is a third part of a three-part video series displaying the performance of "The Tragic History of Dr. Faustus" by the SMJK Katholik English Drama Team Year 2009 in the Petaling Utama District English Language Drama Competition 2009 that was held on 9th of April Year 2009, in Dewan Berjaya of SMK Taman SEA.

This video begins with the beginning of Act III, where Dr. Faustus reappears, and also delivers his soliloquy, granting about his regrets on his decision to trade his soul with Mephistopheles, and also realises that it is not the seven gifts he receives from Mephistopheles and Lucifer, but seven sins instead. The Angel can only look on without any ability to help them, and quickly retracts herself when the Seven Sins reappears.

The Seven Sins approaches Dr. Faustus (and was seen to be slowly snatching his soul) one by one, as Faustus grunts about how the particular sin(s) had affected him. Then, he chased the Seven Sins away, and calls for Mephistopheles. Mephistopheles reappears with a darker face, as though he had showed his true colours. Dr. Faustus then wants him to give his life back, which followed by Lucifer's sudden intrudence into the picture. Lucifer states his purpose of meeting Faustus: taking his soul. Faustus panickly reacts. Lucifer then said that Faustus had got what he asked for, and he had fulfilled his requests, and he is merely doing what as agreed. Faustus then denies, saying that Lucifer had cheated and deceived him. Lucifer then denies that he had not cheated him, instead it is Faustus allowed himself to get cheated, and reminds him that it is him that make the shots and summoned Lucifer. Faustus then begs Lucifer to give back his life and promised to live in peace and harmony. But Faustus denies his requests, and call all devils to snatch his soul and throw him into Hell. Mephistopheles snatches Dr. Faustus and not letting him get loose, while the devils/sins approaches him, followed by forming a circle while snatching his soul. After the rolling of drums ended, the Angel falls down and states that Faustus had made the wrong choice. The narrator's voice comes in, calling us to make a wise choice to live in peace and harmony, and concludes that making a wise choice guarantees true joy in life, unfortunately the microphone went faulty before the narrator could say "in life". Faustus screams "No" which followed by the beat of drum that ends the whole drama.
