Simba Wanyika: Pamela

Before the rebellions which gave rise to the likes of Les Wanyika of legendary guitarist Omar Shaban [El Professeur] and the other offshoots like Wanyika stars and Jobiso, Simba Wanyika was the hottest bed of Swahili music in Kenya. Legend says PAULINA [the first release of Omar Shaban with les Wanyika] was composed while Shaban was still in Simba Wanyika, but the band-leader Wilson Peter didn't think it that hmmm high! The rest is history!

This track is already on the net but not linked to YouTube, so I decided to post it for easier availability. Was one of my dad's best loved songs!

The three Kinyonga brothers George, Wilson and Peter were already veterans of Arusha and Jamhuri Jazz before they crossed the border to launch Simba Wanyika in Nairobi.
