Um really I wouldnt call mario... the best game character in the world the most famous yes I would call him that, but my vote goes more to te wolfen (yes am calling a anaimate object the best character in the world, a ship that goesinto space, ad is piloted by an anti-hero gang called star wolf, who gets owned by sarfox every time lulz) I would kill to have my own wolfen... but then again where would I park it?
