If that's truly what you're arguing against then I applaud your persistence of arguing for the sake of argument, how productive. @TheTokyoExpress At first glance, I do agree: this teacher is a nasty old guy. Certainly he is ignoring a plea for which there are 3 different answers in order of increasing simplicity: Taylor, divide polynomials and finally multiply 1 x 2 and check that it agrees to the order of truncation.

What is surprising is that the lecture seems to be about Bessel's functions-- a quite advanced topic. So what were the requirements for this class??? maybe that is what annoys the old fart...

@jceepf After further assessing the video: The teacher does not explain the steps in between "line 1" and "line 2", which was what you're talking about. If multiple students in the audience are asking wtf he did, he obviously never explained Taylor expansion, further supporting the argument of poor teaching. Then when the students asked kindly how to get to line 2, he said "multiple by 1" like they already knew the steps so at that point: yes the teacher has no clue. fuck off egotistical douche

He DID ignore the question and did not further explain to the student why the product (of the teacher's explanation) was incorrect, he just stared at him, then the board and moved on ... Not sure how your comment is productive at all to the argument of his teaching skill, but mere a desperate plea to expand your ego. Go on yahoo answers where that information could be useful

@nanoday1 Because the way he did it is disrespectful. If the question was not answered to his satisfaction during class, the proper way to clarify it is to see the professor during his office hours or immediately after lecture. This is a video demonstrating the wrong way to do it.

This teacher clearly has a history of not answering questions and seems to be unable to even speak fast enough to interact with his students properly. Just look at how much time he wastes instead of just answering the student's question. He's a fucking math teacher. Any math teacher I've ever had was keen to answering questions (even the dumb ones), and -indeed- that was a third of the content of any class.

He moved on because the asked question was not a question, but a joke. What I saw on the screen was a stupid jerk trying to make himself looked more stupid by putting videos online. Have your mother or father tough you how to be respectful to people? At least PLEASE REALIZE HOW RETARDED YOU ARE, or I'll be embarrassed for you.
