Funny that the SNP have been putting in place the SSP's "unworkable" policies since taking power. Free prescriptions, free school meals, an end to pfi, scrapping "right to buy" etc etc. Soon the Scottish people will have free public transport - and that will be the most radical policy the UK has seen for years. It will give more freedom to the poor and it will cut emissions dramatically. A fantastic Party, the SSP. Sorely missed in the Parliament.

This is a brilliant idea!

It is about time the SSP had thier views expressed in Parliament! It is time that Salmond and his party should be taken down a peg or two and replaced with a completely unbased party that takes everyones needs in consideration.

It is time to transform Scotland into a well respected country and that is well known across the world! With independance this won't work and Scotland will fade into the background.

you never mantioned the cost of the employes, this is going to make it way more expensive, so the taxes will have to be higher. Do we want that. Second of all, do you want homeless peopple to ride the busses all day, because that WILL happen.

@segano1 if you mean they as immigrants, when they've settled, they do pay tax, we having many immigrants or people from immigrant families in parliament (although vast majority are scottish white...or english white) and in other aspects of our lives. business bosses and post office workers, CEOs and labourers, they all have immigrant/families in they're businesses. and when did i say anscestry and heritage/nationality affected each other? i merely pointed out that we should share our heritage

Personally, I don't view them as Scottish at all because I don't believe having an ancestor coming from a certain part of the world as making or meaning you as the same, and they don't pay taxes to Scotland, they don't don't run the nation as citizens, they don't do anything but claim to be Scottish because of a distant ancestor or a Scottish surname.

Heritage and nationality don't quite go together giving the circumstances as you can see.

@me6664 Okay, you say that other people should know your heritage but not supress theirs, so how does that work exactly? If you had a full scale mass immigration of people coming in then what exactly is the point in being Scottish? Most of these immigrants wouldn't come here because they like Scottish culture better than their own, they would come here to get what they can financially and they would take their own culture with them and promote it here.

@segano1 you can also be both, and i know that we have some diffferent genetics, like skin colour, hair, etc. but this is affected by where we live, not because we are different types of people, and i am proud to be scottish, but that doesn't mean i want to keep it to myself,it should be shared we should let people no our heritage,not supress and detroy theirs;you lay such a ferverant claim to your heritage,dont want to see it harmed,yet when others show their heritage,you object to it,hypocrite

@me6664 Only if you're a moron (come to think of it...) would ever say we're all the same, and that we are Africans, when genetics between everybody are vastly different.

There is a vast enough difference between racism and being proud to be different, rather than being a dull clone.

@me6664 Cont...So when you think about it, it's not that significant even if it were true, as the human population was far smaller back then, and the world was a lot smaller too.

The Europeans who lived before the ice age moved south during the ice age covering the British isles, then their descendants moved back up north as the ice age retreated.

We are all different and have the right to be unique, and should be proud of our differences, it's a celebration of diversity.
