I was fortunate enough to stay there (at the General Walker Hotel), the last weekend before it was turned back to the German government. We were there Sept 30, 1995. We also were able to visit Eagle's Nest, then to Munich for Oktoberfest. Awesome memories! I remember the grand stairwell & there only being one bathroom/shower for the whole floor. So, if you had to "go" in the middle of the night, you had to walk down the hall! I also remember it being very steep up a mountain.
