. The song really sounds like a Velvet Underground song and I'd guess Dylan wrote it for Nico. Her version is so much better than Dylan's mangled version of the song.

I'm not crazy about string arrangements but conductor Larry Fallon's arrangement is perfect for this song. Fallon's string section arrangements on "Chelsea Girls' were jos first recording credit.and now at age 73, Fallon still produces and does sting arrangments for a bunch of artists, most notably Van Morrison.

@NunzOnDrugs Yes, Bob did indeed specifically write it for Nico to sing. When she recorded it she was apparently very unhappy that she didn't sound more like him.
