If its a 1:9 ratio or 120:40:120:40 gearing we have had no problems with it. we have only burnt one motor and it was because chain slipped off the sprocket and our intake jammed our shooter and drive is "not advised" to be geared the way it is but we have had no problems with burning motors on a 2:3 ratio or a 1:3 or 1:9 ratio.

In the Tetrix book specifically said not to gear up the wheels this way. It was more than a recomendation. We toasted the gears in one of our motors...back to the drawing board.
