This made me smile. I like that Penn could see the good in another human despite how he much he disagrees with the whole faith thing. I think this shows people with different view can still get on without a god telling them what to do. Proselytization cause debate so it's a good thing. Indoctrination on the other hand is a totally different kettle of fish.

@buymosaic Think through what you just said, it's irrational. If proselytizing didn't work religion would have long died out. A good percentage of believers leave the church when they grow up. These get replaced by adult converts. I was converted through proselytizing, though I've since become agnostic. Many t mega churches are as much as 1/2 adult converts.

@debateyourfaith actually....he probably wasn't doing anything at all like you are implying. In all actuality the book, Bible, that he was giving would have been a little New Testament that is made by the Gideons...and it happens to include the book of Psalms as well. It was not Psalms in and of itself.

Everyone shouting their unfounded beliefs at full volume as long and often as possible for the "benefit" of everyone else would be truly horrible, regardless of best intentions.

But proselytizing doesn't work....so why do it? Why should I shove something at you that doesn't resonate with you....if there is a God...and He, It, She, Them...Whatever wants your Heart and Mind...you'll know it...You dont need my big mouth yammering on about it. Hugs Penn!!!

Penn, if he was a good man he wouldnt follow a doctrine that says youre going to hell.Pslams is OT and Ps 14:1-4 is very entertaining for the Atheist.

By giving you a book on Pslams he basically said youre an abomination and need to be put to death

This guy might be nice enough to protest clubbing seals or snapping the necks of mink to make fur coats, however he wont protest to his god or religious dogma to not torture you for all eternity just because you dont believe
