Yet another song arranged by me. The concept of this song was to create a jazz song that features an orchestra. It was a lot harder than it sounded since jazz doesn't really use string instruments. So I took the all-popular Canon in D Major and gave it a jazz feel. I chose the 5/4 time signature to give it the Take Five feel. You'll also notice I threw in "Hungarian Dance No. 5" just for kicks.

Once again, the mp3 is acting up. So if you want a copy of the mp3, just message me and I'll get it to you.

  • How ironic is your statement?

  • eh dude you didn't compose it, you arranged it. two different things cuz pachelbell composed it

  • Yeah, you're right. Bad choice of words.

  • this is in a major key not minor. Im sure of it.

  • It starts out normally with Canon in D Major. When the 5/4 starts, it changes to D minor.

  • Indeed both bass guitar and double bass are string instruments, as is a guitar, not to mention the many many jazz violinists there have been and jazz orchestras with full string sections.

  • @obiuss OMG =))

  • (Y) thumbs up for the string bass

  • This is cool, but I love the slow version of Canon in D Major by Jacques Loussier. It's worth a listen. youtube [dot] com/watch?v=rozgjPlCC7U

  • Ehh, I'm not too fond of this verios.. it could be way better. You should have taken it slower and made it a slow jazz.

  • its utter **** whatever it is :/

  • @Th3Skull3r someone next to you is reading Shakespeare (you don't have to read it too), rather that you have to listen when it's played, which is far too often.

  • @Th3Skull3r Actually, yes it does have a lot to do with logical fallacies. I wasn't laughing at your poor spelling, rather at the fact that you criticised my education whilst seemingly being unable to write coherently yourself. On that note - what is "trolling"?

Boring IS subjective, but in this case it's the opinion of many. Pachelbel's Canon is a joke shared between musicians, and you can't just 'not play it'. Musicians are commissioned, apart from anything else, and it's not like if

  • @bpdoirs Your argument can be applied to ANY piece of music that exists.

Boring is subjective as well as banal. And if you think it is overplayed... then play something else.

It's the same idiocy of people saying "SHAKESPEARE IS OVERRATED AND OVER READ!!!" just read something else if you don't want to read it.

and lol @ spelling criticism... that has nothing to do with logical fallacies. My post was completely understandable to anyone with any discernment.

    Now stop trolling this music.
