This workshop is about writing in your own rhythms, using your own language, and telling your own story.
Nancy Slonim Aronie says, I cant teach writing. I dont think anyone can. But I can make it safe and Ive learned when people feel safe, they go deep. The writing gets more powerful, the heart goes deeper, and the words flow faster. Getting the story of what happened to you out of your body means you dont have to carry the weight of it around anymore. When people ask if its therapy,
I answer, No, its therapeutic to write the truth.
This workshop is about undoing the damage of school where red pens corrected spelling and grammar and stopped so many of us in our tracks, mid-sentence in our story.
I totally agree. The perspective I've seen it from has shown me that the lies we are fed about what a woman is and what a man is has crippled many of us who cannot fully claim the power of who we are because we deny our feminine or masculine innate characteristics. Men are taught femininity is weakness, and women taught that masculinity or aggressive traits are undesirable and intimidating from a woman.

I've heard her story 1,000 times, i don't think she even knows who she is. I think she just wants to identify with new age thoughts and spirituality. She is a consumer, in the worst way, because she is oblivious to it.
