Sir ; ive 16 and my dream is to be a pilot specially the 767 . im working really hard to make it but i want to ask you something ; how much flights do you do per week ; and how much hours per flight ? Do you feel boring or thers no routine in this job ? and thank you very much for sharing

so what do you guys do on those long flights during cruise? I mean you can't just sit there and stare at the screens the whole time!

@phillyfan2010 Talk to ATC, and talk to eachother. Sterile cockpit only applies during departure and approach phases I THINK.

@1053857 Generally the sterile cockpit applies below 10000 feet in climb and descent. Some airlines may vary from others.

@phillyfan2010 As long as someone is monitoring the systems and navigation constantly then there is time to relax, read, make food & drink etc. It's like an office job where someone is expected to stare at a screen all day, not easy.

As you are a captain .. how much do you think FSX is close to reality ?

@Q8yGodfather Apols for late reply, I don't really use FSX but I believe it's pretty impressive. They spent a lot of time with engineers etc refining the software. Couple with a control column and rudder pedals etc it's a pretty decent experience.
