Kids song's are meant to be frightening. This is so that kids can be "gently introduced" into the horror of human life.
But we wrap our kids in cotton these days instead of trying to prepare them.
Most nursery rhymes are frightening.

For some reason I started singing this song to my kids today and it reminded me of this. My god, the Muppet Show was amazing! There's no way this would ever be allowed on TV today. Thanks so much for posting this and bringing back some great memories for me and letting my kids see it too. :)

This song terrified me when I was really young. This is the first time I heard it since then, and I it brought me to tears. I suppose psychology is a strange thing.

I think the old lady would of been just fine if she would of swallowed a glass of prune juice.I really don't know but I have been told that many a news presenter could be cured of what realy ails them, if only they would drink a 12ounce glass of prune juice.Take care ADonovan43
