A great song performed on Sept 10, 2005, in Portland, Oregon, shortly after Katrina wiped out New Orleans. I believe this gig was an afterparty show for MusicFest Northwest 2005.
It was the first time I had heard any of James Hall's music. I was blown away. I was asleep in the green room when i first heard the opening chords to "Revolution In Red". It was about 5:00 in the morning. I think its kind of funny that the time accidently ended up on the tape. That is actually the correct time!

  • Thx for posting! You know what real rock is about!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks for your comment. This show was unbelievable, but I have to admit, I was so out of it at 5 a.m. that I was only any good with my camera for this song and I think one other one.

Please check out my other James Hall track from the same night. "No Future Kid". Another great performance from an excellent songwriter.

  • Your video is popular on Sofia

  • I was at this show, having worked at James' performance at Mississippi Studios the night previous. It was worth out, and I went out and bought or ordered all his albums after meeting and seeing him that weekend.

  • Take advantage of any chance you may have to hear this man perform he is an excellent singer songwriter.

  • Hi Nano,

Your camerawork suits the music just fine! It's raw/rock! Besides Mr. Hall himself was a little out too I think. ;-) Years ago I bought the CD 'Pleasure Club' for a few euro's in a second-hand shop, just coz it had Geffen as a label. I found out that I had bought one of my best CD's ever. So strange that this guy didn't become more popular. Accidently I ran into this video and it gave me memories. Now the CD is in the car-player again and I'm loving it. Thx!

    Ciao,
