The Issue of Comfort Women

'Comfort women', who are women who were forced to become sex slaves for the Japanese army during WWII, deserve a formal apology from the Japanese government.

@TelcontarRulz I mean china isn't without blame either, the Chinese have done some absolutely horrific things to their own people some of which is still going on now for example falun gong. frankly I don't think anyone in china would give a shit if Japan apologised even the victims who are probably dead by now.

@TelcontarRulz Most guilty of the war crime? Why don't you list up independent nations in Asia before the 2nd World War? Almost, all of nations in Asia were colonies of Europian Empires, Britain, France, etc, except Japan, Thailand and Tibet. What about China? Main land of China was divided like cake by Britain, France, Germany, Russia, etc. China lost Hong Kong after opium war with Britain. I really wonder why China is still mad to Japan, not Britain, other Europian Empires? I know the reason!

@TelcontarRulz China still owes lots of appology and compensation for victims in Tianamen square and abused minority races in China. Also, Commy China tried to invade Vietnam in 1979. Fortunately, Vietnam bravely kicked them out though. Germany appologized? Are you talking about Nazi Germany? Commy China is the same as Nazi Germany which ignore freedom of speech and election and oppress anti-commy china and minority races. Those victims of china re stiil waiting appoligy though.

Abusing human rights, minority races, Tibettans, East Turkistans, massacare in Tianamen square? Give me the straight answer without any excuse. @TelcontarRulz LOL! I'm brain washed by Japanese government and emperor? You're so funny! Have you been to Japan and discussed with people in Japan about historical education in Japan? I'm totally exahugsted to such a typical stereotype. Teachers in Japan used to teach me almost the same as you insist and blamed Japan as evil. So, many Japanese people in my generation are brainwashed with the same idea as yours. However, many people in Japan began to face toward the reality.

@dylanotoshiro China is still waiting though. While the current emperor is not responsible for the sins of his ancestors, an apology would do a lot for the advancement of goodwill. It's a diplomatic move, the way Germany apologized even though the person who made the apology was not responsible for the Holocaust.

@katsudon2009 There was evidence from Western Historians that they were not paid. A westerner who went and spoke to the comfort women described their plight very well. They were not paid. I hope you don't believe the Japanese propaganda about them doing it willingly. The prostitutes in modern Japan, however, probably were not forcefully captured and put into a camp situation and then forced to serve men.
