i am getting worst by the day, i have lost a lot of weight.

My WBC was lower than yours. I was 1.8 I felt fine. I don't know if some people feel fine while others don't. Maybe your problems are not due to your WBC but something else is going on that has not been found or addressed. I hope you feel better because its obvious you are suffering. My prayers are with you.

I have read that antibiotics can lower your white blood cells.

I'm SO sorry to hear about what you're going through.....I feel like I can relate because I have been going through a similar thing and it is soo difficult!! I just thought I would throw this out there....have you heard of the new recently discovered retro virus called the XMRV virus? They are finding it in all these chronic fatigue syndrome patients and it can attack your white blood cells I believe. Praying for you....

some where you said high bilirubin , thats a sign of red blood cell destruction , which may indicate babesiosis. (your muscle weakness/pain is a symptom of babesiosis also) Maybe ask your doctor for a babesia test, or maybe (since the tests are not 100% accurate) a diagnostic trial of meds.
treatments are usually
A. (mepron or malarone) + zithromycin
B: quinine + clindamycin
wishing you well.

Hey, if you're having Bartonella, that's making enough problems! It is immuncompromising.
I have low WBC too from it. It means, the immunesystem is heavily working. So the real problem is the infection, which needs to be cared for, not the WBC.
Bartonella is worse than Lyme - my own experience.
-
I got a positive result, but that didn't change a lot. I got AB-therapy, but still have problems. You have to see more doctors, you need a diagnosis and there are chances it won't be Lyme.

lyme tests are not always accurate, its very possible u have lyme and its attacking ur immune system. Lyme effects every person differently. There is a new test out that test for the Bb bacteria as opposed to testing for anti-bodies. If it turns out to be lyme i suggest you check out the salt/vitamin c protocol. Check the lyme strategies group on yahoo health for more info on the protocol. Hang in there stay positive because ur mindset effects the function of ur entire body. be strong
Hello, my WBC is also low at 1.8. My question for you is, are you sickly? Why was your WBC checked? I am healthy even with a very low WBC and wonder if there are others with low counts who are healthy.
etay1207 2 years ago
Why were they checked? Because my white blood cell count has been low since I was 12 years old. Doctors don't know what is causing it. I have now been going to Johns Hopkins hoping they will be able to find the cause for it and hopefully fix it. And hopefully it's nothing REALLY bad as the cause.
