"I've Gotta Get a Message to You" is a song recorded by the Bee Gees in 1968, which became their second #1 single on the UK Singles Chart, and reached #8 in the U.S. charts.
The song is about a man who, condemned to die in the electric chair, begs the prison chaplain to pass a final message on to his wife. Robin Gibb, who wrote the lyrics, said that the man's crime was the murder of his wife's lover. He came up with the idea following a row with his wife and originally conceived the song with Percy Sledge in mind

Compare this group with those in the rock categories in the Grammys this year (Feb 2012). I had no clue of who the rock bands were, let alone how terrible they were. This is real music and singing here. I hate all the computer generated records today, which is just loud noise.

I have loved this song for years and never knew the BeeGees sang it! OMG I have looked and looked for this song! I didn't even know the name of it. Just some of the words. Imagine my surprise! Well now I love the BeeGees even more!
