Here's a revised and expanded version of my earlier compilation of some of the most important and interesting instances of film dubbing. Thanks for all the suggestions!

  • Outstanding - especially the music editing! Great job.

  • @ohbutyes

Thanks - people don't know how hard it is to make such different songs flow smoothly.

  • Could you possibly track down Jeremy Brett before he was dubbed by Bill Shirley for "My Fair Lady?"

  • @darthkurland

From what I understand, he never recorded any tracks. I have uncovered many others, tho, if you check the clips on this channel and at lostvocals3.

  • @lostvocals6 I heard the story during a documentary,i know Rita can sing well -she has a warm voice .She sings in The King annd i.Thank you for thses videos.

  • @TZEITEL10

Rita has said she was dubbed in WSS because the key was too low for her. She did her own singing in "America" so that means that royalties were not an issue.

Thanks for the kind words! Yes, I've heard Jack's cut number, and that actually is Audrey's voice singing "Moon RIver" - she also did her own singing in "Funny Face".

  • This is a wonderful montage and it has wit ... Marni Nixon for Marni Nixon in Sound of Music.

You clealry know of Jack Nicholson's singing scene in "On A Clear Day You Can See Forever." It uses Jack's voice and was cut from the film. And Audry Hepburn did a charming turn with Moon River in Breakfast at Tiffany's, but I believe that they used another's voice in the release. You Channel is super ... it is interesting and puts a spot light on some might fine hidden talent.

  • Great informative compilation.

  • @expoboy52 Rita could sing but there was some dispute over royalties which was settled by hiring someone to sing for her.

Belafonte likewise,in his case i think the songs were out of his range and comfort zone, its operatic in style.
