Sorry to hear that you are another one who has problems with the 800 motor. My F800GS made a similar metallic sound (but more infrequent). When BMW took apart the enginge they found excessive wear on both pistons and cylinders. Got a replacement engine on warranty, but when this one started leaking oil less than six months later I sold the bike. Hope KTM builds better quality. If this IS the "piston slap problem " you are for sure not the only one, there are numerous reports!
