I have worked construction for 20 years and am ready to get back to the basics. Unfortunately here in the US it is very difficult to get around building codes. We have lost our way.

Build these for next to nothing or work 30 years to pay the debt of a western house. Such a tough call!

I own a home and I want to build one with my son as a home-school project/fun. Make it a cold storage room and other half for food storage after our fall harvest( preserved and canned)

does the lime protect it from rain?

yes, lime (1 part lime to 3 parts sand) is the more natural alternative to cement plaster. also, cement plaster would not stick on the earth walls
