I'm confussed. She was heading from Stockton but the footage you shot in Sacramento(I remember the day and how I missed it) shows her heading toward Stockton. Now some other footage I found show a different assisting loco when she passed through sac earlier in the week. Why is she going south on the 24th when she should have been going north?

One of the comments I get when I upload rare aircraft is that the pilots are thrilled because they never get to see their planes fly -- they're inside of them! I bet the engineers of this train are going to be just as thrilled; they are going to be soaking up these videos for years! You might want to consider sending a DVD to Union Pacific as a thank you. Really well done!
p.s., I wish I can remember which video it was on but an engineer was just THRILLED with the turn-out they were getting.

I'm in the process of compiling all the footage I shot over the two-week trip onto a DVD. When that's done, I just might mail a copy back to Cheyenne.
Thanks for the idea!

Steve, GREAT locations you shot video from there!!! 5 Stars again. In looking at other videos of the UP-844 on YouTube, I can safely state that 90% of them were professionally shot right here in California!!! Good job there Steve!

Thanks! I always go for the dramatic angle. Either well above or well below the subject is usually a good bet.

I estimate her speed through Acampo to be somewhere between 65 and 70 mph. I tried to catch up with her again at Elk Grove, but she was just moving too fast.
The weather in the canyon on Saturday sucked to be out in, but it made for some great photography.
