  • @cliffcyphers Thanks for clarifying that. I've enjoyed country music for 40+ years and had never seen or heard of a dulcimer. Thanks for enhancing my education by introducing me to it. You learn something new every day, and no matter how much you know, you know nothing at all.

  • @jerlan23 I use a strap behind my back to keep it on my lap.

  • @cliffcyphers Why didn't I see it before? When someone asks whether the chicken or the egg came first, simply answer, "42." There are so many great versions of WWF out there, and of course none will ever surpass the original Carter Family. I think Whitley and Skaggs were both 16 when they did their duet. How does your instrument stay on your lap? I'm a clutz, and it looks like I'd sweep it to the floor trying to play it.

  • @jerlan23 From The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, 42 is the answer to the ultimate question. Who cares what the question is so long as the answer is correct! I just listened to the Keith Whitley and Ricky Skaggs version, it is amazing!!

  • @cliffcyphers Thanks. As an old calculus teacher, I can stand to see no calculus left unexplained. Due to the position and angle of the camera, I couldn't make out the lower limits on the integral signs. Of course, the purpose of the video is to show the instrument and the playing of it, both of which are awesome, and the song is one of the greatest of all time. Is there significance here, of the number 42? Have you checked out the duet of WWF by Keith Whitley and Ricky Skaggs?

  • @jerlan23 Thanks for watching. The calculus is the deference of two definite integrals that equals 42.

  • Nice. I've never seen this instrument before. What's with the calculus on the shirt?

  • @mattamus69 Thanks for watching.
