Investing in Highway 97 - Weigh in Motion Facility and 4-Laning

This $39 million project involves 4-laning a 5km section of Highway 97 and building the third Weigh in Motion (WIM) facility in BC and the nineth intelligent scale facility in BC, delivered by JJM Construction. These weighing facilities allow trucks to be weighed at highway speeds and reduce the reporting frequency for those carriers with good safety records. This is part of the Ministry's Premium Carrier Program.

This is part of the Cariboo Connector Program which will see the 4 laning of over 460km of highways between Prince George & Cache Creek BC. To date we have doubled the amount of 4 lane km along this route.
