This beautiful bird is on display at the Danish Tekniskmuseum. It was such an unexpected chance to see this great plane inside out!

Well I know that when I'll visit CPH again I will go to the museum!

I discovered the room with the Caravelle quite late in my visit and I couldn't stay asa long as I wish.

  • @canabisonmars No problem, hope to see you in Denmark sometime again!

    Take Care!

  • @TUInordic Sure, you too!

  • I hoped you would start it up.......

No, I'm kidding! Excellent video mate, I was searching for a good video of the interior of the caravelle and here it is!!

The airplane actually looks much cooler than I had expected :)

  • @JPetroSS Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. Unhappily the camera was a bit out of focus but i realized it 2 late, when I was back home.

  • @exeuroweenie In layout the two were similar. In performance the 727 got the edge. It all boiled down to economy. They only "beefed" up the 727 once. From the 727-100 to the 727-200. The Trident was the first and best in many things (autoland is one), but by the time it reached its peek it had been "beefed" up two times and had four engines. As I said BA (BEA) would probably love to have an aircraft designed for every single route they flew at the time. That is the short version.

    My Best!!!

  • @hypernova8787 Was the Trident as similar to the 727 as it was claimed? I guess the oldest/rarest plane I ever saw was a Convair, either 880 or 990.I'm unsure which-you obviously know planes better than I do.It looked like a charter,at Philadelphia airport in the late 70's.I guess you've seen the Seconds Till Disaster series? The Comet episode was very well done.

  • @exeuroweenie Sorry for a very late replay. Yes, the Comet 4 had some succses, but the Comet 1 thing stuck. The 707 won that one. You are lucky tough. Flew the Caravelle and the 1-11. I only flew the Trident and saw the VC-10.

The Americans had future economy in mind all the way, Europeans went for what do we need here and now. Guess it`s evened out now but we missed some great stuff.

Take a look at the English Electric/BAC Ligthning. At top of the evo. ladder. Man it`s awesome.

    Take care!

  • @hypernova8787 The Comet 4 was fairly successful, wasn't it? I saw one (RAAF) in Australia. The VC 10 was gorgeous, though never saw one in "person".Did get to fly an Air France Caravelle and BAC 1-11 as a kid.The One Eleven was so perfectly proportioned.Of course most everything's Boeing here in the States nowadays.British planes(VC 10,Concorde,Viscount) were always better looking, though.

  • @exeuroweenie You are so right. The blow came with the Comet 1. Then it was a bit of ziggzagging and BOAC,BEA,BA was allowed to overtaylor two of the greatest airplanes ever. The VC10 and the Trident. Look at the Boeing 707 and 727, It could have been so different. The Concorde is simply awesome. Kicked bottoms all over the world. Perhaps the offspring of the Comet-Caravelle mating. Britain and France did it.

I get carried away on this topic. Sorry.

    My best!!!

  • @hypernova8787 Ah,thanks! It's a pity about the Comet.Britain deserved more credit for trailblazing.The Concorde was a success in its own right,though.

  • @exeuroweenie You are right. it`s as close to identical as one get, besides the inside of course. They used the Comets nose:-)

    Take care!!!
