Igbo kwenu -is part of the longer version-, can be used in different contexts, it can be used as a way of calling the attention of the people, while at the same time sending blessings -Like the when added 'muo nu' (Meaning; reproduce), Zuo nu (meaning; live to train or brought up your children). It can also be used as a way to hype the people and as well as a show of respect to the people.
The Yea!! that people responds means, 'In agreement' or like Amen if you like...

is that so? so what does the resonse "yaa!" mean? see am igbo and i dont even know what this stuff means. i thought i knew but i think i dont. i thought igbo kwenu was just the normal thing to shout and then the people concour and respond with "yaa!"

It is a way of greeting the the crowd. Same as saying "my people, I greet you".
