While I may have shown off a Power Rangers game in an "On My Free Time" video, this is the first Power Rangers game that I LP. This is also one of the first Power Rangers video games that were released at the time when it was popular. This installment is an average platformer beat 'em up game, possessing charm and nostalgia to those who have played and beaten it before. However, it is not a game with too much replay value, other than the passwords you get at the end. However, it does a good job with its resource material and it also does a good job presenting a decent game to players. While it gets tedious, it doesn't outright bore a player and does add some variety throughout the stages. The characters, while being a bit similar, do offer some very small differences between one another. Finally, this game DOES have our heroes get into and use the Megazords at some point, something that couldn't be said for the second Power rangers game and it might possibly explain where the origins of the fighting game mechanics of Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers came from.

The first area in the game is short and simple, it's mainly just a way for the player to get accustomed to the controls and to be introduced to the gameplay. There's no serious traps or dangers involved and the enemies are relatively easy. The only problems a player could have is possibly with the first boss, who can be quite poketastic with his sword and has a long range attack. Other than that, the boss and area should go by quick enough.

The second area in the game is a little more complicated, where they are traps and platforming elements that the player with have to be aware of. The enemies are also a little more threatening and beginners could start to see themselves lose a life or two here. Fortunately, this game is generous with continues and it also has a password system. The boss at the end of this stage is probably the hardest/most annoying part of the fight and is a good indication that bosses aren't a joke in this game, the damage you can take is pretty significant and the boss does changes his tactics when he's almost dead.

Nevertheless, let's join the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers as they try to defeat Rita Repulsa from her evil antics of flash-frying the city!

Enjoy the video!

  • Is it me or does the music for level 2-1 sound like Ken Masters theme from Street fighter?

  • Is it just me, or is the yellow ranger goddamn built

  • I just order this game. Can't wait to play it again.

  • i remember this one hard as heck if i remember right

  • Oh yeah! This game is awesome. I've seen so many LPs of it and it never gets old~

  • I remember when my mom bought this game for me, I beat it in one day playing all the way through it, and I was so excited when I told her. Then to my dismay, she started crying! Dx She was unhappy that she spent so much money on a game for me to beat it in one day. That wasn't the end of me playing it, but still that was a crazy moment in my life, and this reminded me of it.

  • everytime you start a new lp i am shocked by what it is, you completely caught me off guard with this gem though waddler.
