This is Google Earth 5.1 running on Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat with compiz enabled.

As you can see, even though Google Earth uses OpenGL (notoriously bad with Compiz), the open source radeon drivers have no problem running both effects and 3D OpenGL at the same time - all of this on a 64 bit install too!

  • Hey how can you watch youtube links from Google earth? Mine isn't loading, try to go to the moon, and the youtube links won't work saying that Adobe flash isn't installed. Thanks.
