same name's in dutch then (Rachel is called Ann in dutch mother of bobby is also called natasha ect) but if i watch the intro of the english version they have a complete different inro instead of the japanees version (dutch and itailian uses also the origenal one) really funny if you ask me

Wow, that's really interesting. You researched this well. And for the record, I never did like those alliterated names in the USA version myself.

Patty is interesting. Her parents are Christine and Marcel, and her surname is the hyphenate Hope-Rabbit. As strange as it might sound, she's supposed to be French (which might be why the French call her Gabby, and their version of the theme song won't let you forget it!).

This said, the Japanese surnames are an interesting bunch. Most of them are a punning play off their species coupled with a European-sounding suffix: we have Bobby Kumanoff in the original ("kuma" = "bear"), and his mother is Natasha (i.e. a Russian theme). Then there's Judy Rithmond ("Risumondo", "risu"="squirrel"), who is probably supposed to be British, and Diana Konderik ("kon" = the sound a fox makes) and her parents Chirine and Hans are probably supposed to be Dutch or German.
I was wondering. Does Rolley's name kind of rhyme with, or even sound, like the name Molly by any chance?

Technically, no. It's pronounced like "Rolly", from the movie "101 Dalmatians" ("roh-lee"). Of course, that hasn't stopped me from pronouncing it like "Molly" for years. It just sounds more natural to me that way. >_>

wow, I just love too much this cartoon (alongside with Maple town, of course, but Palm for me is special since I used to watch it when I was a youngster...);
My favorite is the Beagle Girl : In the italian version she's known as Lorry, but I noticed in one episode the original name's Rolley !

She's actually a cocker spaniel (her full name, believe it or not, is Rolley Cocker), but the point still stands. ^_^
As for the whole Lorry/Rolley issue, it's worth noting that Japanese doesn't have a real r or l sound, but rather a consonant (usually romanized as r) that's somewhere between the two. The name is written "Roorii" in Japanese, so technically both are legitimate romanizations, but only one is official.
