@bakedpotat0 , Unfortunately, you can't turn the light off which was my sticking point as well, and if you use batteries in your unit, I feel it drains them quicker, too, so I didn't go with this speaker. Your ipod/phone already has a light and this just adds glare to the situation. If you had the option to turn it off, I would've purchased this unit for sure!

im thinking of buying one, i had a jbl on stage I for about 6 years and its starting to die from years of nonstop use. but can you turn off the light around the ipod part? thats the only part i dont like.
