Today is my 6th wedding anniversary!! We left yesterday for Zion's Canyon and got home today. It was an awesome little trip (about 115 miles round trip, gone for only about 24 hours) and it was just what I needed! It felt amazing out there in God's country soaking up the sun and beauty and cruising the highways on our motorcycle. We stayed in a cute little town in the Bumbleberry Motel. I had such a great time! I hope you will enjoy the pictures I took, most of them I took while riding on the back of the bike (I especially like the helmet reflection shots... hehe)

The song I wrote just a couple days ago, and it is about something that happened to me several years, and is also about what is happening to me at this time right now (preparing to move and leave behind a huge burden and responsibility)... and because of what happened seven years ago, (getting dumped by my "fiance") I am with my husband today, and I am SOSOO happy things turned out the way they did. This song is about how the things that happen to us can seem like such a huge mountain at the time, but if we don't stop climbing, we will make it to the top and look down on our problems and see how small they really are in the long run, and realize that having to climb those mountains gives us the freedom and ability to fly, makes us stronger.

  • I'm going through this right now actually, and I guess I was just wondering how you move on from something like this? Anyway, I guess thanks for making the song, and the video.

  • You will find strength you didn't know you had, and it will get easier as time goes on. My best advice is to be as gentle with yourself as you can, don't blame yourself, don't beat yourself up, don't put yourself down, just treat YOU with love and tenderness, and try to do positive things, things that make you happy and feel good! You'll climb that mountain, and then YOU can fly back down!!!

  • Wow, very good job girl. Very prety words, interesting playing. I never play that high, maybe I'll try it sometime. And it must have been quite some holyday, very beautyful pictures.

  • thanks Gijs! Yeah, try playing around with those high chords, it works with some songs and not with others, you just have to play around with it. And it was an AWESOME little holiday, everyone should take a little break like that once in a while. VERY REFRESHING!!

    :)

  • Finally got the time to watch this because NANOWRIMO is over, and I LOVE it! Catchy tune, love the words and message. Good work
