  • Say what you want about Bill, but even now, 30 years after his last performance, his recordings are still in print and in demand all over the world. This is extremely rare, especially in jazz. His approach, and his recordings, have been, and continue to be, studied, analyzed, and argued about. Only a few pianists (such as Hancock, Corea, Jarrett) have such a depth in style. Don't flame me if I left out your favorite.

    A million stars for Bill......

  • Miles also said he wrote Flamenco sketches and Blue in Green.

So take what Miles says with a grain of salt.

  • @BaphometsWarrior Miles lied about "Blue in Green." Miles also said some very racist things about white musicians, so did Coltrane. You don't often hear this.

By the way where can I get this video? Anyone know?

  • Bill is the MAN!!!!!!

  • This little ''riff'' ( 2:53 ) remind me of ''The legend of 1900'' music, the song that the pianist composes while falling in love.

  • can somebody post the whole video of Piano Legends (1986) Hosted by Chick Corea

  • @AlbertGBaierII I agree with a lot of what you said but, Art Tatum is still the most studied and important jazz player of all time.

  • I like the way he plays. Its like his sleeping and not looking at the piano, but he hit every note accurately. Genius indeed!

  • All are invited to a BEAUTIFUL Bill Evans master class on his life and music. Type in "Dave Frank" Evans on Youtube. Bill lives!

  • @Zillacello THANK You. You see it like (or as)a musician. Best comment on the page.

  • Also see Eric Watson The Peacocks.

  • @pressurecookers1 Glenn Gould was actually a big fan of Bill Evans. He called Bill "the Scriabin of Jazz".
