  • If I'm correct, whilst the TBC-1000 provides non of the problems of the 1T-TBC, it seems to have soften the image quite abit???

I haven't tested it for this particular scene, but where I have done screen comparisons there were down to the pixel no differences between the tbc-1000 and the raw capture. However when I used tulip cables rather than S-vid ones, such softening indeed occurred.

My TBC-1000 consists of VP-301F, VP-299 (distribution amp) and power board. If you use VP-301F direct output without going through the distribution amps, the picture will be as good as if you were using TBC-100. As a matter of fact, I think VP-301F is a PCI card with molex power connector and no PCI pin connector. But TBC-100 still has 4:2:2 color compression and still decreases the quality of a picture (video) a bit. But you'll have to be very precise to see the difference.
