I was cleaning my office and came across this video tape that I had forgotten about...my 15 seconds of fame on ABC Evening News in 2000 celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Brownie camera. They had contacted me because of my Brownie Camera website, http://www.browniecamera.com , and we set up an interview for when I was returning to Boston, from the Netherlands, on one of my work trips, which I still do 2-3 times a year for product photography.

I thought some of my friends out there might enjoy this.

  • still looks grumpy even back then !

  • I've been grumpy forever!

  • Yeah!

  • I felt honored, quite frankly!

  • My uncles a professional photographer (yeah one of those $5,000 camera sellouts) lol. Yeah but those old cameras give the pictures a rustic/antique look. But how do you get film for those? or whatever it uses, lol

  • Hiya...I don't always get film for them, depending on the format film, I sometimes have to make it. Some can be re-rolled onto different spools and sometimes I have to cut large film into the size, load the film in the camera, and take one shot at a time.

One last thing..."one of those $5,000 camera sellouts"?

  • My first camera was a brownie. Later I had a Hawkeye, another Eastman product with a flash. Today, I use a digital. In one of my videos I have a B&W picture of a canoe lying beside the mill race in Eugene Oregon under a large willow tree. I shot that with my brownie when I was maybe ten. It's still one of my favorite pictures.

  • Loved it!

  • Ha ha! Congrats man!

I'm an audio engineer and I can only imagine how my current audio console will be viewed 20 years from now.

Time flies but, and you know this better than I do, you CAN capture it!

  • That was very cool! :)

  • You rock!
