Dana White "I Want More Fighters To Get Involved In Judging"

UFC President Dana White spoke with UFC Tonight correspondent Karyn Bryant after a thrilling night of fights at UFC 147. Dana expressed interest in getting more fighters involved in the judging and reffing aspect of the UFC. In addition he spoke about Wanderlei Silva's performance as well as Anderson Silva's upcoming bout.

Dana, just take the UFC video production staff and make a video explaining proper scoring. Then work with the Athletic commissions to make viewing it mandatory for all judges within 48 hours of the fight. Be proactive not reactive on this issue. You can do something BEFORE the judges blow a call. Teach them what to watch for. What's the problem??

He knows though that every judge and referee makes a bad call at some point, either not stopping the fight soon enough or stopping it too soon, if you just fire every one you are losing so many referees/judges that in the end there won't be any decent ones left.

If it were up to Dana, the refs/judges that make bad calls would be fired. He can't do anything about it and he certainly cannot make them watch videos before the fight.

Yes Ed I see your point. Thank you for not shouting back in four letter words too over it. My step brother Franko is almost a black belt in Gracie Jitz and while yes the UFC is the big money making organization there are so many many amazing Brazilian fighters not part of the UFC that fight in very recognized bjj competitions around the world. I agree with Dana too, yes they haven't gotten a contract yet but they live it in Brazil it isn't just about money to them.

yea but thats in brazil, i havent heard of any organizations where brazil is paying top dollar putting up great fights ...yea you can become famous in brazil but around the world people wont recognise the fighters
