One problem with the open village design is that things as important as walls that many non-professionals have to take part in building should be made 'idiot proof' like with an interlocking brick design, that way granted the correct foundation you always get a safe structurally sound end product.

Looks ... like a death trap IMO. Hopefully the walls are just for keeping the outside air out and aren't structural.

so do you feed the stove from out in the green house? Good idea... can you tell us more about the bricks around the stove inside the kitchen? It looks like you won't be using the stove to cook on?

There's a small part of the stove in the kitchen that could be cooked on. We're planning to use the babington square tube to cook on too.

The stove is fed from the hallway/workshop area, right in front of the door to the greenhouse. I saw the design in a book in the AT library of an old german farmhouse, where the stove is fed from another room to keep the kitchen smoke and dirt free. The bricks around the stove are just like the other ones, only nicely stacked by some guys from Engineers Without Borders.
