@350fordchick That is called soring, and that is a method used in gaited horse shows. If you were to sore your horse for a dressage competition, there would be no way you could get through a vet examination and people would notice you right away and you would get blacklisted.

@TheHorseLady1212 in my area there is only one indoor arena for miles and us barrel racers like to practice when its nice and drag. we showed up early for our club one day and i saw them taking the metal braces of the horses tail. and i witnessed them putting acids on the bottom of there hooves also!

Just want to say that this is a very good video!! I ride English,but it's just personal preference. And I hope everyone knows that we are all equal as equestrians and that most English riders aren't "Stuck up and rich and Cruel", and that most Western riders aren't "ignorant' and act as stupid as the cowboys in all of the hollywood movies!

DOES IT MATTER! It's not called western riding. It's not called english riding. It's called HORSE riding! :)
whether it's a pommel or a horn,
crops or spurs,
jump or barrel
breeches or jeans
english or western...
the point is that we love horses!
don't be proud of what type you ride (not that there is nothing to be proud of) be proud that you have the guts to get on a horse and call yourself an equestrian!!!!!! :)

@350fordchick I don't know which shows you've been going to, but i have never seen it. Why would you be going to a dressage show, anyway? I though you hated dressage.
