Voorhees Hall RHA at Rutgers University presents a message of acceptance and tolerance:

I believe every person has worth as an individual. I believe every person is entitled to dignity and respect regardless of color, gender, age, sexuality, economic standing, and cultural or religious background. I believe every thought and every act of intolerance and prejudice is harmful; if it is my thought or act then it is harmful to me as well as to others. I believe intolerance creates barriers within the religious, social, political, educational, and business institutions thereby stifling opportunities for growth as a global community.

Therefore from this day forward:

• I will strive to eliminate all prejudice from my thoughts and actions
• I will discourage expressions of prejudice and discrimination by others at every opportunity
• I will work to remove barriers created by prejudice and actively seek to build bridges of trust and understanding
• I will strive daily to honor this pledge, knowing that the world will be a better place because of my efforts
• I will treat all people all with dignity and respect

I will not hate.

We will not hate.
