X-Surfer Walkalong Glider Flight Down Sidewalk

An X-surfer walkalong glider is flown down the sidewalk of a residential street. The flight was made in the evening when not a breath of wind disturbed the tree leaves. Normally, it is too windy to fly walkalong gliders outside and they are better flown in a wide open indoor area such as a school gym.

can you make it out of phonebook paper then?

You can try, but I have not succeeded in getting this design to work with phone book paper. There is a phone book paper design walkalong glider called the "indoor paper airplane walkalong glider" but it is different from the x-surfer design. Maybe you are thinking of the "origami hang glider" design at sciencetoymaker? It is a phone book paper design which can be flown with hands only.

Paper loses its shape. Let me know if you get a design to work consistently. There is a paper airplane design called the indoor paper airplane surfer walkalong glider at instructables which works quite well.
