It ever lowers my hope for the world when a skank like Amy Winehouse gets so much bloody attention, and mindblowing talents like Alice Russell and Sia Furler remain largely unknown. argh :-(

It's just odd. She's one of the best singers and so many like her have enjoyed massive success. To be specific, so many far lesser singers have enjoyed much larger success. She just needs that one album, that vehicle that will put her at the top where she belongs. Anyone, woman or man, that manages a performance like this is a fucking star. She just needs a well-rounded, fully cohesive album. We love you, Alice. Please stay with us. Everyone should know who this woman is.

@seateapea Totally agree with you! I tell everyone I know about Alice. Nobody really knows who she is in the States. It's quite sad that they call Justin Beaver and Miley Cyrus' music "music". It makes me sick. Alice Russell is the REAL and TRUE meaning of the word ARTIST and she creates REAL MUSIC! She's one of my top 5 favorite artists!

Look folks, I know you are all fans of Amy Winehouse, and believe it or not I am as well. My comment a while ago was far more about the music listening public and the press than about either of these performers. My greatest wish is that they both are happy, and healthy, and keep singing for us.

@bonitaymorena I saw Amy Winehouse on stage at Coachella, and she was so drunk she could hardly stand up. I have seen her on TV, where she was so drunk she could barely hold the mic. This is a waste of a great talent, and is a freakshow. The public will keep watching just to see how Amy fucks up, not how she sings. Meantime, Alice just keeps singing in relative obscurity. BTW - I have seen Sia live as well, and it was fu*%ing sublime.

@bonitaymorena I find your comments to me quite strange. You do realize that calling someone you have never met a "judgmental idiot" makes you a judgmental idiot, right? Especially after saying I disgust you for hating on someone I have never met...you do get this, right? I also never referred to Amy Winehouse as a slut. I do think that Amy is fantastically talented. It just saddens me to see the downhill slide she has been on. This sort of slide fairly often leads to a performer's death.

@poutybean Thank you I can't stand these stupid people who want to dog out Amy because she doesn't have this perfect polished glamourous image. Musicians are different and if they think Amy is so horrible (when they haven't met her in real life), but are basing they impressions of tabloids. She isn't malicious towards other people yet, complete strangers hate on her because she's different. Shame.
