This is a Tool-Assisted Speedrun, (TAS) which means it's made on an Emulator using slowdown, savestate and rerecording to push the game to its limits.
This is a ''Non-Glitch Speedrun'' which means it's not allowed to use any glitches that can help the run to become faster. Only allowed to do glitches if it doesn't affect the run.
Here is a list of most of the glitches:
1) The most common glitches are these you can perform by holding three of the move pad buttons at once. This is not possible to do on a regular gameboy which ofcourse means it's not allowed in a Non-Glitch TAS run.
By doing this you can: Use much faster boots, Boot-Warping, going through stuff by using the boost, do some strange Air-Walking, damage in a long range with items. Shot Arrows/Bombs/Powder in strange directions, throw two bombs at once, and even more crazy stuff.
2) Pit-Walking: Pit-Walking is a glitch that is much used in Oracle of Ages and Seasons. It can be done at several pits in Link's Awakening but close to as much you can do it in Ages and Seasons.
3) Select Skipping: You can skip lots of text bars that shows up after opening a treasure chest or by the text bars that shows up by bosses.
4) There's possible to lift things and jump right after it to save time. That's not allowed in the N-G TAS.
5) Pushing blocks in a direction which is not actually possible to do is not allowed. (It looks like you're pushing a block up but the block moves to the right/left while you're actually pusing it up).
Timing:
First frame starts when I press the button that removes the level intro text.
Last frame stops when I press the button that removes the final text square.
Total Frames: 10000.
First frame starts on frame 468.
Last frame stops on frame 9974.
Timed Frames: 9506.
Total Rerecords: 1275.
Improving: If you have any ideas of how I can improve the run even more, then please post a text comment below. Remember to rate the video as well.
I'm TASing each dungeon in this game and I'm finished with all the parts except Turtle Rock which I haven't started on yet.
have you seen swordlesslink's TAS? he did a full game TAS for this game that was released just yesterday.

Yes I have. Too bad I had done all the levels except the 8th one. I could have TASed better if I had seen them a bit earlier. :/

at first pressing 3 buttons at once is not a glitch, it's just something which is made possible by the emulator.
to improve the run you should have damage boosted at 0:35 like you did a 1:06.
but all in all you did really really good.
just another thing. the easiest way to manipulate the luck is swinging your sword. this normally would cost time. that's why you have to swing it while jumping. ^^

Emulator only, I know, but you can do a lot of weird stuff that I wouldn't allow in a N-G TAS by using these buttons at once.
Yeah, good idea. Damage boost at 0:35.
I will probably include that damage boost if I do improve it again. ^^
