@sleepwalker29 Because the wheel/tire can be out of balace statically and/or dynamically. In other words up and down (static) or side to side (dynamic) imbalances. Weights are need on BOTH the inside and outside of the rim to correct both of these potential imbalances.

I drive jeep and have Mickey Thompson 33" ATZ tires and 35" MTZ tires I've been told to use sand instead of weights to balance. Is sand a good idea for bigger tires???

I just got new tires, and it wobbles, after Discount Tire installed the new tires. The wheel I think is out of balance has weights on the inside and outside of the wheel in the same spot. So why would anyone need to add the same amount of weight on the inside and outside? Dosen't that make the wheel off balance?

lol he actually put on a .25 weight. I so love this balancer. We have 2 at work. The laser is pimp.
