  • @Donatello97 It's because companies want to expand to wider audiences. Back in those days, much less people played videogames.

Many of today's games focus on story telling and voice acting... the main parts of a movie. Those kind of "gamers" are OK if the gameplay is "OK" and if the game isn't too difficult. They give up very easy.

Some modern games have great gameplay as well, but it's extremely difficult to combine a great story with great gameplay.

  • @Double00AA

Most modern PS3/XBOX games hold these next gen gamers by the hand with the over saturation of tutorials, and Save points. I miss the NES 80's days along with SNES. Stuff like Ninja Gaiden I-III, Ghosts 'n Goblins, Castlevania I-III, and even Mega Man offered some incredibly tough rock hard challenge.

Also, the 80's and early 90's had thee' BEST game commercials. they were so creative, imaginitive, out of this world, colorful and fun as shown here. :D Nowadays it's mostly trash

  • @Double00AA Back when commmercials weren't about story and voice acting either.

  • @Tb0neZ5 At a time when games were about challenge and gameplay, not about story and voice acting.

  • Love how the guy's just like "Right, see ya then" at the end.

  • Love the guys giants glasses xD

  • KUROS!?

  • That dog's arse was on fire.

  • haha well they couldnt do trailers back then cause its impossible to make a game look epic with 8 bit graphics.

  • LOL! OMFG...I am so happy video game companies have changed their approaches to advertising.
