Chapter 50(:
OMG, fifty chapters you guys thats amazing! thanks for readingg(: i love all of you!
so go listen to miley cyrus's song "the climb."
i think it's my new favorite song.. seriously, really good words. and her voice sounds pretty good. just goo(: ok, here, chapter!
The rest of the night went pretty smoothly. Nick, Emily, and I finished up three batches of chocolate covered pretzels while Kaylee and Michael got the sign stuff ready.. but like Kaylee said, we couldn't trust guys to make the signs. Next Emily and the boys made busicuts after being taught by me... Noone else in our family really cooks other than me and my mom. Therefore we had Carter, Kramer, and Nick at one table; Joe, Kevin, and Emily at another. Michael was supervising to make sure nothing got to out of hand, and was putting busicuts in and out of the oven in between phone calls with mom about how dad was doing. Kaylee and I worked on the "Welcome Home!" signs.. She was an art major last year at SCAD (savannah college of art and design), therefore she was pretty dang good. I mainly helped with the outside decorations and sparkles. Before we knew it, it was two in the morning and we were all exhausted.
"Michael, when did Mom say Dad was going to be home?" I asked as we all sprawled out in the living room.
"Umm.." he said, looking at his watch and then the phone. "Last time she called, four thirty..."
"AM?" We all groaned.
"Oh cmon guys; Dad's coming home!" Michael said, trying to keep everyone awake.
"I vote for a game of good ole streetball." Kramer suggested.
"Oh, you know that would NOT be fair.." I said, giving Kramer "the look."
"Don't worry; we would divide up Hopkins and Jonas's fairly." Kramer said, smiling at his competition.. my boyfriend and his siblings.
"Woah woah waoh, noone said you had to split up.. We could take you guys." Joe said, jumping right in.
"No no no.. We're not doing this tonight. And what are us girls supposed to do? Just stand by and watch?"
"No, of course not." Kramer said. "Yall can bake some cookies or something."
"Jerk." He stuck his tounge out at me.
"Well, the girls could play.." Nick said. "But someone's going to have to sit out."
"I will." Kaylee suggested.
"Cmon Kaylee, we've been wanting to play basketball since like, last year!" I begged.
"Well... maybe we should just let the boys play three on three. I have a feeling this is going to get pretty rough."
"But I think we should split it up evenly to make it more interesting."
"Okay, how about guys with girlfriends HERE versus guys without girlfriends... here or not here." Kramer suggested.
"I'll take that!" Joe jumped back in. Carter high-fived Kramer and Joe.
"Kramer, Joe, and Carter versus Nick, Kevin, and Brandon... hmm.." Emily said, thinking it over. "Kramer, you know that's not fair either."
"And why not?"
"Because Carter has been on the all star team since he was a sophomore, and you had over a-thousand points. Brandon was always the baseball-Hopkins. Remember?" I said, answering for her.
"I dont know.. I kinda like those teams." Nick said, always up for a challenge.
"Fine. Do whatever yall want. I'm just gonna sit in here and.. bake or something." I said, moving to the kitchen.
"No no no!" Carter broke in. "You have to video."
"Okay, I'll go along with this whole thing. BUT. Losing team has to sing. Together. For the camera. Song of MY choice."
"OH, that's not fair! They have Nick AND Kevin!" Kramer whined.
"You picked teams! Is it a deal?"
"I'm in. Me too. Alrite..." The guys-with-girlfriends team was a-go.
"HUDDLE." Carter said. Joe, Kramer, and Carter whisper-talked for about thirty seconds. "Alrite, we'll play."
