  • Further to my earlier comment back in April there was a memorial concert for him at the Wigmore Hall in London and a CD of a recital which he gave at the Royal Northern College of Music was on sale there.

  • William Waterhouse also recorded with the melos Ensemble the Quintet for Bassoon and Strings by Jean Francaix. A fine and witty performance. He is apparently trying to get as close as possible to a French sound on a Heckel-style instrument. So, it does not sound like Klaus Thunemann but it is eminently suitable for the music. He also broadcast the Skalkottas Sonata Concertante on the BBC many years ago.

  • @jphilipps89 There's a song cycle he performed in, the Benjamin Britten Nocturne, Op.60. His only solo was for the bassoon sonata by Anton Liste.

  • @Piassondra Where can I find his recordings?

  • William Waterhouse was actually my paternal great-uncle. I always loved his music.

  • @BearRiverBand oh dear.... sooo much wrong with this response.
