DIY Tube Overdrive Sound Demo.
My first DIY Tube Overdrive made with 12AX7, ordinary DC-9V power supply, with a beautifully Aluminium Pedal Box.

  • I really like the concept if for no other reason than this: Preamps are SO dependent upon the tubes in them. Now here is one where the tube can be changed in a few seconds.. This is very convenient. I like this alot!!!!

  • @sustayne Thanks!

  • very sweet tone. god job!

  • @brett2525 Thanks!

  • How did you record this? It sounds decent, but a little flat-- I'm assuming you did it directly to a DI box? Perhaps a SS amp?

I can hear the potential of the pedal, something just sounds dead in it.

  • @gibbyhibbies

Thanks for your opinion, I will try to record a new video

  • 0:41 you can clearly see it's a PUBE overdrive!

  • I thought I read Pube Overdrive. Sounded a little teenaged. =)

  • Way cool!! position of the tube most impractical :D

  • It's a foot pedal? Why is the tube so unprotected, I mean, a little shield around it, what if you stomp the tube itself?

  • What kind of power supply do you use. I mean, I don't see any transformers in the pictures, and I can't imagine how a 9V battery can power a tube...

  • @karlhouseknecht crank it and go for the "Revolution" tone?

  • this is cool, but can you make an in depth how to video? and whats it sound like

  • @brett2525 GOD HAS A JOB HAHA

  • This sounds bad, you need a cab simulator for this if youre running the preamp straight to the computer!

  • @96lolstar

loop up "Matsumin's Valve Caster". Although Matsumin uses a 12au7 (lower gain) i'm sure that with a little tweeking of his design, the 12ax7 (higher gain) could be used.
