(SERGEANT BLUFF, IA) Land owners and leasers got a chance to sit down and learn how to better their business.
Dozens of farmers were learning the ins and outs of modern renting and land leasing at a seminar in Sergeant Bluff Thursday afternoon.
Topics covered were everything from web resources, to building better owner - tenant communication.
In Iowa, leasing is big business. As much as 70% of land is farmed by farmers who don't own, but rent.
The fluctuating price of farmland is something that affects nearly everyone in Siouxland.
"Farmland prices do affect everyone's livelihood, they affect the consumer who's buying the end product, they affect the business owners, the farmers, their families, the economy around the area as well, it's very important for everyone in the area," says Adrienne Jansen, Program Coordinator for the ISU Extension, Woodbury County.
