This is a video of my great & good friend Arlene Smith "Live" at "The Top Of The Senator" in Toronto, circa 1995.
Arlene has been part of the Jazz scene in Toronto for many years. She started out in New York City, eventually
moving to Montreal before finally settling in Toronto in the eighties. Over the years she has performed with many of the greats in Jazz, in Canada & the USA. This concert at The Senator was special, in that her friend Billy Marcus
of Florida came up to T.O. to play with her for a week-long gig. And play he did! Check out these guys chops!
Arlene Smith - Vocals
Billy Marcus - Piano
Mike Murley - Saxophone
Jerry Fuller - Drums
Kieran Overs - Bass
Arlene's CDs are available at "CD Baby" & "UNIDISC.COM"

I grew up calling Alrene "auntie Arlene" she was a close friend of my mother in the 60's and 70's. Her husband Ellis and my father I believe knew each other and that's how my mother and Arlene connected. My mother has been gone for more than 10 years now. I haven't seen her since sometime in the 80's when she visited NYC.
