  • This is a very emotionally charged subject. As a dark skinned woman, I experienced a lot of hate from people who were just as dark as I was and some from people who were light skinned as well. I realized that it was just a symptom of self-hate. I then let go of the anger I had and when I saw the world, I saw that ALL OF US, light and dark were being discriminated against. Racists don't make distinctions. Remember that.

  • I can relate to what she went through. But I also hear about of all of the darker skinned Black women who go through the exact same thing. But this "colorism" to go through alot of races and cultures including Chinese, Indian, even Irish. Its up to the parents to break the cycle and teach kids better.

  • One's LINEAGE-CONTINUITY is 'THE KEY'!

In order to be MGM-Mixed*/Mixed-Race one's ancestry MUST have BOTH BECOME & REMAINED (at least 25%) racially-admixed THRU-OUT all your family generations!

Having 1 or 2 "ancient-ancestors found "somewhere-down-the-line" (ex.1 or 2 great-grand whatever of another "race") DOES NOT make a person MGM-Mixed (or else everyone could (falsely)claim to be MGM-Mixed)!

    MGM-Mixed REQUIRES a "CONTINUITY-of-Admixture"

    [*Multi-Generational Multiracially-Mixed]

  • There is No Such Thing as a "Light Skinned Black" person!

The term "Light Skinned Black" is a racist oxymoron coined by White racial supremacists who tried to forcibly deny 'Mixed-Race' people who are of a Multi-Generational Multiracially-Mixed (MGM-Mixed) Lineage the right to embrace & acknowledge their full ancestry.

Again, so-called "Light Skinned Blacks" are simply 'Mixed-Race' people who are from families that BOTH BECAME & CONTINUALLY REMAINED Mixed-Race THRU-OUT multiple generations.

  • @mochamodel21 So true. /thANKYOU

  • It's really funny how in black, Indian, and even Hispanic communities, light skin is considered prettier. But white girls are out there baking in the sun, going to tanning salons, spraying themselves with self-tanner, and brushing themselves with bronzers. I think it comes down to "We always want what we don't have."

  • White supremacy is the poison of the world, spread via colonialism/slavery. ALL this talk about LOOKS-skin color, hair texture, facial features,etc.-is just insane vanity. And to paraphrase the Creator, "vanity is nothingness." Really there is no look that great although "whites" have done a good job of convincing themselves and others that their look is THE supreme look which entitles them 2 play god. But this is DELUSION beyond belief! NO look matters unless the behavior is right.

  • SO sad, more double standards. Can we all just accept the fact, we are here to beautify the creation. Dammit lets do it, with out the judgement. Lets do it by allowing the spice of individuality, to season the pot of life and create a dish that is simply divine!

  • One side of my family is biracial I am a darker sista. My family has always been good to me but in the real world lets be real biracial are really light skin people do seem more privileged in this new age. I understand what my family went threw back in the day but now things have changed in society for biracial women or for those black women that have that real light skin. If they are going threw anything it is usually because their husbands or children are dark skinned black people.

  • Love you

  • Im actually from Baltimore, as well an amateur film maker and I was thinking about putting together a similar documentary including light-skinned individuals and their experiences as well as people's opinions of the beauty of dark skin, so commend you on bringing this matter to light. Well done.

  • Listening to this made me cringe I grew up in Georgia and was tormented as a child for being lightskinned.I attended a all black school at the time, When my mom moved us to a mixed neighborhood..all that mess stopped I didnt get picked on by anyone else..We need to teach our kids that we are a rainbow of colors
