Inglot contacted me and said that there was a mistake on the 20 pan palettes and that those bought at the imats would get a partial refund. That is a great step.

Yes the price has increased and there is nothing we can do about that now. Personally i think a £5 price increase would have been enough. However the eyeshadows and pigmentation level/quality etc... are still worth the money.

The same in MAC would cost you £106. Inglot will cost you £43. So its still a great deal.

I think it most unlikely that INGLOT will increase the price any further - at least for a while.

And Kudos for INGLOT for actually replying.

So where do i stand now on INGLOT? I will continue to buy the eyeshadows, but i would have bought them regardless of if INGLOT had contacted me or not.

This is the first time that a company has increased the price so heavily (UK and US) prices. As i mentioned above a £5 increase would still result in a massive profit margin for the company.

I think this is a lesson for all makeup companies to learn from. Price increase is very sensitive. Increase too much and no matter how good a product, people will stop buying.

A lesson learned? I hope.

Prices:

10 round palette was £20 now £43.20 - £23.20p price increase.
10 square palette was £35 now £52.20 - ££17.20p price increase.
20 round palette is £82.80
20 square palette is £100.80

I find it hypocritical that people are so upset about Inglot practices but forgive MAC & go running back to them because they aren't as bad and don't take advantage. Are you serious? MAC resells pigments in smaller containers & charges more. MAC sells ltd edition products & then repackages them in other collections. MAC plays on all our addictions by coming up with new collections every - what? day? knowing we'll buy them. And most of us do. (continued)

Not happy about the price factor. Very good quality product at a reasonable priceof $5+10palette is hard to beat. They gave us a lot of choices for the quality and price and it usually took a while to chose a whole palette which was a big draw. Anyways a little dissapointed, but somewhat understable.

I just bought a 10 pan freedom system. The palette was $14 and the shadows were $5 each. So in total thats $64 in total. I think thats great. You are getting high end makeup at drugstore prices, and you can customize your palette anyway you like, and the product packaging is sleek and innovative. I understand why people may be bothered that they cant get their palettes for dirt cheap anymore, but I dont think its a reason to write INGLOT off entirely.

I'm torn on this one. I hate companies that treat exploit their customers in this way. A 10% increase along with a big advertising campaign shouting out that 'everyone can afford the very best eyeshadow on the market - you can all look amazing, every one of you', then that would be fine. A 50% increase because they 'CAN', following free publicity they've received on Youtube from you guys just stinks. I won't buy, I'd rather get a step down in quality rather than indulge their contempt of us.

@omsarasvati Not only has the price increase NOT happened in the US, several popular YT gurus (I've personally spoken to Queen of Blending about it) spoke to the VP of Inglot & were told that US prices were NOT going up- that the rumors were unfounded. This is why many store employees did not know of the increase.

Having said that, I was told just prior to that by the Inglot twitter that it was happening in April; it would seem Inglot has some work to do regarding inter-company communication!

To be honest INGLOT in Poland is pretty inexpensive, but when I went to Inglot's USA online shop I was suprised how much more their stuff costs there! An eyeshadow for 12 $ is 6-7$ in Poland, depending on the dollar currency. And the same price is for the trio eyeshadows.
