A patient is brought in by EMS after a major MVA. The paramedics
tell you that the patient's primary complaint is terrible pain in his foot
where he sustained a severe crush injury. Prior to
arrival the paramedics gave the patient 10 mg of MS but this hasn't
helped the foot pain, and after the MS the patient's BP
dropped to 89/40.
On arrival it is hard for the patient to concentrate or answer
your questions because of the 10/10 pain in his foot. He is screaming
and writhing on the bed.
How can you quickly and safely eliminate this patient's pain?
Check out July's EMLIVE for the answer!
